Cracking Top 50 College Admissions

Build a profile that gets you in.

One morning at Goregaon Sports Club, one afternoon at The Club, Juhu. Two people who got into the Ivy League and chose differently share what top universities actually read for, and how to build a profile that gets you in.

Every registered family gets a free 1-on-1 personalised college roadmap.

01 The one question

You wouldn’t hire an English teacher to teach Chemistry. So why trust a counsellor who never studied abroad?

the people on stage

Studied where your child wants to go.

Every speaker on that stage applied, got in and studied abroad. The advice is firsthand.

the pressure

“Which college?” is asked at every wedding.

We give families permission to choose fit over a name, without ever dismissing the Ivy dream.

the return

It’s a crore-rupee decision.

Cornell declined. Zero tuition at Drexel, plus $24,000 a year on top. That is a return you can calculate. We show you how.

02 Who’s on stage

Admitted to the best. Chose the right one.

Two founders, both from The Doon School. Between them: five Ivy League admits, two scholarships, and two very different decisions. Ask them why.

He got into Cornell, and said no. Drexel charged him zero tuition, and paid him $24,000 a year on top. He’s only the second Indian to receive it.

Been there. Studied that.

03 Myth vs. reality

Half-truths make whole mistakes.

Every family has heard these at a dinner table. Scratch each card to reveal what admissions offices actually reward. On a phone, swipe across it.

Reality

Fit or nothing.

The highest-ranked university isn’t always the right one. The best school for his dream wasn’t an Ivy.
Myth 01

Ivy or nothing.

scratch me ✎
Reality

Applications are built in Grade 9.

By Grade 12 you are describing a profile, not building one. The earlier the plan, the calmer the senior year.
Myth 02

We’ll start in Grade 12.

scratch me ✎
Reality

A perfect score is not a perfect application.

Grades get you read. A whole profile gets you in.
Myth 03

Perfect marks are enough.

scratch me ✎
Reality

Admissions officers remember stories, not lists.

One plan with two pillars beats ten disconnected certificates.
Myth 04

More activities, better odds.

scratch me ✎
Reality

Bought certificates don’t fool admissions officers.

Real research, real competitions, real people, real numbers. That is what reads as genuine.
Myth 05

Any certificate counts.

scratch me ✎
Reality

The right university pays you back. Sometimes, literally.

Scholarships, cost and career ROI belong in the decision from day one, not after the offers arrive.
Myth 06

Scholarships are only for toppers.

scratch me ✎

Myths cost crores. The truth costs one Saturday.

04 Best rank vs. best fit

Prestige impresses relatives. Fit builds careers.

Choosing by rank

The list everyone else made.

  • Picked from a ranking table
  • Same ten names as every classmate
  • Major decided by the brochure
  • Cost counted after the offer
  • Great at a wedding, hard in year two
Choosing by fit

The list built for your child.

  • Built on the student’s strengths and goals
  • Departments, not just the university name
  • Reach, match and likely, all chosen on purpose
  • Scholarships and ROI on the same page
  • A decision you’re still proud of in year four

Building the fit vs. finding the fit.

At the event we walk through how to shortlist universities on the student’s strengths, goals and future plans instead of rankings alone. In your 1-on-1, we do it for your child’s actual list.

05 The formula

A profile is built like a building.

The Projectling formula: one plan, one counsellor. Every piece holds up the same two pillars. Scroll and watch it go up.

  1. The plinth

Grades, tests and a research paper with the student’s own name on it. 3,500 papers published in real journals.

  2. Pillar one: a major impact project

One serious project in the intended field, with its own website.

  3. Pillar two: a social impact project

Real people, real numbers. Not a photo-op.

  4. Competitions & summer

Five competitions, entries managed. A summer programme chosen to hold up the pillars.

  5. The beam

A pillar-forming personal website that ties it all into one story.

  6. The roof: your application

Essays and interviews the student can defend, and a list built for fit.

01

Diagnose

We read the profile the way an admissions office would.

02

Two pillars

Two things to be known for, chosen together.

03

Mentors who got in

The UniRely way: first-hand guidance from people at your dream university.

04

Prove & land

Essays, interviews, offers, scholarships, and a decision made together.

06 The road, Grade 8 → offer

Applications aren’t built in Grade 12. They’re built in Grade 9.

8 explore

Find the spark

  • Choose the right board and subjects
  • Try olympiads, clubs, reading widely
  • Notice what they do without being asked
9 diagnose

Pick two pillars

  • A profile diagnosis, done honestly
  • Two things to be known for
  • First competitions, on schedule
10 build

Start the real work

  • Research with a mentor, aimed at publication
  • The major impact project begins
  • A summer programme that fits the plan
11 prove

Results you can point to

  • Published paper, competition results
  • SAT / ACT / IELTS planned around school
  • A university list built for fit
12 land

Applications you can defend

  • Essays in the student’s own voice
  • ED / EA / RD and UCAS strategy
  • Interviews and scholarship forms
Offer decide

Choose the right one

  • Offers and scholarships, side by side
  • Cost and ROI, calculated
  • A decision made together
07 The record

Same competitions. Different odds.

What usually happens, and what happens with Projectling students. Not a typo.

08 Who it’s for

Starting out, or already in it.

The evening works as a starting point for younger students, and as an audit for families already in the process who want to know what’s missing.

Grades 8 – 10 · the starting point

“Where do we even begin?”

You have time, which is the most valuable thing in this process. We’ll show you how to spend it.

  • Choosing the right board and subjects
  • Finding the two pillars early
  • A year-by-year roadmap to the application
Grades 11 – 12 & gap year · in the process

“What is my profile missing?”

An honest gap audit, read the way an admissions office would read it, with what can still be fixed before deadlines.

  • Strengths, gaps and opportunities in your profile
  • Best fit vs. best rank for your actual list
  • Essays, interviews, scholarships and ROI
09 What you’ll take away

Bring your questions. Leave with the truth.

    Best fit vs. best rank

How to choose universities on the student’s strengths, goals and future plans instead of rankings alone.

  3. 03

    Scholarships, cost & ROI

The real cost of studying abroad, scholarship opportunities and long-term career outcomes.

  4. 04

What top universities actually look for

What separates a strong applicant from another student with good academics.

  5. 05

    The right board & subjects

Plan your child’s academic journey with clarity, from Grade 8 onwards.

  6. 06

Profile analysis.

Five short sections. Our counsellors prepare your holistic score, strengths, gaps and next steps, and walk you through it at your 1-on-1 on 24 October.

12 Questions

Asked and answered.

Is this for parents or students?

Both. The talk is built for parents and students of Grades 8–12 together, and gap-year students are welcome. Most families come as a pair.

What’s the difference between the two sessions?

The talk is the same. The Goregaon Sports Club session is at 11:00 AM in the Regal hall. The Club, Juhu session is at 3:00 PM. Pick the one that suits your Saturday.

What is the free 1-on-1 personalised roadmap?

A detailed review of the student’s current profile, covering strengths, gaps and opportunities, with personalised next steps for academics, activities and college strategy. It’s free for registered families in Grades 8–12.

Do I have to fill in the profile analysis?

No, it’s optional. If you do, our counsellors prepare your profile analysis in advance and walk you through it at the event, so your 1-on-1 starts from specifics instead of introductions.

We’re already in Grade 12. Is it too late?

No. For families already in the process, the evening works as an audit: what your profile is missing, which list makes sense, and where scholarships and ROI change the decision.

Will you guarantee an admit?

No, and nobody honestly can. That promise is a myth, and this evening is about reality. What we can show you is what worked for real students, and a plan built for your child.
